Under the Mekong River Commission Climate Change and Adaptation Initiative (MRC CCAI), a Mekong Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan (MASAP) was developed as the general plan of action for guidance and addressing the impacts of climate change on the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB). The MASAP, while strengthening basin-wide resilience, will contribute to ensuring sustainable development of the Mekong River Basin in line with the 1995 Agreement on the Cooperation for the Sustainable Development of the Mekong River Basin (the 1995 Mekong Agreement). Part of the work included a policy analysis of the water and climate related policies, legislation and institutional settings of the four Member Countries.
